Four arrested after alleged theft of more than $3,000 at Walmart

Information from WYSH Radio

Four people were arrested and charged Wednesday in connection to the theft of more than 600 items from the Clinton Walmart.

Knoxville Police called the Clinton Police Department and informed them that there had been a theft at the Walmart in Clinton and that four suspects had been detained in Knoxville in connection to thefts at several area Walmarts, including the one in Clinton.

KPD arrests suspect in theft of school bus found in Anderson County

The Knoxville Police Department on Friday arrested a Knoxville man suspected of stealing a school bus in Knox County that was later found in Anderson County.

The suspect, Hillman Greenlee, 61, “sold” the 1998 Blue Ribbon Coach Bus for $1,200 to another person while the owner of the bus was out of town, according to a statement from KPD spokesman Darrell DeBusk. The value of the bus is about $2,000.

Stolen Knox County school bus found in Anderson County

A school bus reported stolen in Knox County this morning was soon found in Anderson County, authorities said.

Bus 117 appears to have been stolen from its owner’s home on Prosser Road, Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk said.

Alleged serial bank robber apprehended

Law enforcement officials announced Thursday that a suspected serial bank robber was apprehended minutes after allegedly holding up a bank in Alcoa.

Gerald Hytken of Lenoir City, 79, is suspected of robbing four banks in the past two years and is facing federal charges for, among other things, allegedly robbing an Oak Ridge bank last year.

Clinton, Knoxville police dispose of possible grenade

The Clinton Police Department and bomb squad technicians from Knoxville disposed of an object that was found in the parking lot of the Weigel’s on North Charles Seivers Boulevard on Wednesday and believed to be a hand grenade.

Police were called to the store at around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday and shown a suspicious-looking item in the parking lot. A customer said he had noticed the object when he got out of his vehicle.
