There will be a Meet the Candidates event in Oak Ridge on Thursday, July 12. It will allow residents of Oak Ridge and Anderson County to become acquainted with the candidates for contested offices in the August 2 state and federal primary and Anderson County general elections, a press release said.

There is a Meet the Candidates Yard Party on Friday in Oak Ridge.
It’s scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, at 106 Oklahoma Avenue. It’s hosted by Roane County Commissioner Renee Kelley.
The event is primarily for the residents of the Fourth District of Roane County, but everyone is welcome to come and discuss the issues and have their concerns addressed, a press release said.
The event is not a fundraiser. Instead, it is presented in loving memory of Commissioner Steve Kelley, the press release said.

The Oak Ridge Education Association is having a “Meet the Candidates, Meet the Educators” event at the high school this afternoon.
It’s scheduled from 4 to 5:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, October 22) at the Oak Ridge High School amphitheater.
“Because of the plethora of candidate forums in recent weeks (and the number of candidates), our event will not be so much a traditional candidate forum as much as a ‘conversation’ about public education,” a press release said. “Each candidate will have the opportunity to speak for three-five minutes on their views on educational issues pertinent to the office that he/she is seeking. The offices on the ballot are chancellor; Circuit Court clerk; District 4 constable; county commissioners for Districts 6, 7, and 8; county clerk; county mayor; Juvenile Court judge; Criminal and Circuit Court judge; district attorney; General Sessions judge; public defender; register of deeds’ Republican and Democratic State executive committee members; road superintendent; county school board; sheriff; Tennessee House of Representatives in the state’s 33rd District; and trustee.
Time and space will be provided for citizens to talk to candidates. There will be a table for each candidate to display literature and campaign gear. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Anderson County Democratic Party will host a potluck supper and “Meet the Candidates†evening at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at 1660 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge.
County Democratic Party Chair Catherine Denenberg invites all Democrats to attend and meet candidates seeking office in this year’s elections, a press release said. The primary election date for county offices is May 6, and the general election is Aug. 7.
