A free workshop at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce in mid-January will focus on how to do business with the government.

A free workshop in mid-January will focus on how to do business with the government.

It’s scheduled from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

The workshop is offered by the Tennessee Small Business Development Center. Registration is required.

Anderson Chamber offers business counseling on Wednesday

The Tennessee Small Business Development Center is offering a free and confidential counseling session on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 9 a.m.–noon at the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce in Clinton.

TSBDC advises and assists future and existing business owners. Senior Business Specialist Jutta Bangs will  lead the Wednesday session.

The Tennessee Small Business Development Center has four small business seminars in Oak Ridge on Tuesday and Friday.

A Tuesday morning seminar from 9 a.m. to noon will focus on “how to do business with the government.”

A Tuesday afternoon seminar from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. will focus on the Small Business Administration’s 8a business development program. [Read more…]

The Anderson County Chamber of Commerce Education/Workforce Development Council, in partnership with the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, will host a free workshop for small business owners and entrepreneurs who want a better understanding of starting a new business. The TSBDC advises and assists entrepreneurs and small business owners in our area at no cost to them.

This free seminar will be held from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Friday at the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce office at 245 N. Main St., Suite 200, in Clinton, with Jutta Bangs, senior business specialist with the Tennessee Small Business Development Center. The seminar discussion includes the forms of business organization, tax requirements, business licenses, business planning and financing options with additional discussion about SBA loan guarantee programs. Free Affordable Health Care Act seminar on Wednesday

On Wednesday, May 22, the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, in partnership with the Strategic Consulting Solutions, LeGacy Resource Corp., Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce, and the University of Tennessee, will offer a free workshop for small business owners and entrepreneurs who want a better understanding of the Affordable Care Act.

The speaker will be Jeff Ginsburg, director of human resources of LeGacy Resource Corp. The workshop will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce. [Read more…]

Roane Chamber and SBDC announce business entrepreneur workshops

The Roane County Chamber of Commerce and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center at Roane State Community College have joined together to offer three free workshops for entrepreneurs who are considering or have recently started their own business.

Small business conference on how to benefit from $6.5 billion UPF

A conference at the end of February will give small businesses a chance to learn how to benefit from the planned $6.5 billion Uranium Processing Facility at the Y-12 National Security Complex.

The 2013 Construction Opportunities Conference is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the New Hope Center at Y-12. It’s offered by the Tennessee Small Business Development Center and partners.

Small business owners can learn more about doing business with the government during a Jan. 15 seminar at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

The free seminar, scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Jan 15, is being offered by the Tennessee Small Business Development Center and Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

The featured speaker is Paul Middlebrooks, marketing consultant at the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services. The program is designed to introduce business owners and managers to the diversity of government purchasing.
