The next Veterans Breakfast in Anderson County is on Saturday, August 13, at the Clinton Community Center.
Military veterans from Anderson County are invited, a press release said.
The breakfast is hosted by Anderson County citizens, and it sponsored this month by AEG: American Employer Group in Clinton, the press release said.
“Chow line†opens at 8:30 a.m., and there will be a brief program at 9 a.m., the press release said.
This month’s featured speaker is Lauren Scott Monahan, who has served as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, a legacy passed on by her father, Commander James Scott. All of the veterans breakfasts will recognize and honor local veterans and their families for their service to the United States, the release said.
It said Anderson County residents and community volunteers are working together to make the breakfast a free monthly event that will allow veterans all ages and branches to fellowship and share stories together. The City of Clinton is recognized as a special sponsor for hosting the monthly location and set up.
Future monthly Veterans Breakfast sponsors include Lewis Ridenour and Gary Long for the September 10 breakfast, and Ray Varner Ford for the October 8 breakfast. If you are interested in sponsoring a future Veterans Breakfast, contact Anderson County Mayor Terry Frank at (865) 310-4097.
