Oak Ridge Schools will have a new website starting next weekend, and you can preview the site now.

The new website is a district-wide website, meaning the individual schools’ websites won’t change for now.

The new district website is being created by local designers from Girl on the Roof, a press release said.

“We anticipate the updated user experience will be much more inviting for families to engage with our daily communication tools, including calendars, blog posts, and social media feeds,” the press release said.

You can preview the new website here: http://orschools.wpengine.com/.

The preview will be available until Wednesday, August 10, when work will start to migrate the new site to the Oak Ridge Schools’ district website at http://www.ortn.edu for release over the weekend.

The work of Girl on the Roof will be familiar to Oak Ridgers who have visited the Explore Oak Ridge site http://exploreoakridge.com/, the press release said.

“The first phase of enhancing our web presence is the creation of this new district site,” the release said. “Our school-level pages will remain the same for now until we contract to upgrade them as well.”

This press release was submitted by Holly Cross.
