Channel 95 will feature live election results

Channel 95, Anderson County’s public television station, will have a live broadcast during the Aug. 2 election, providing updates on voting results and interviews with candidates and community leaders.

The station is working with the Anderson County Election Commission to produce the broadcast, which starts at 8 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. Aug. 2.

“Our office is pleased to cooperate with our county public television station,” said Election Administrator Mark Stephens. “Giving our citizens speedy election results is one of our primary missions. We realize many candidates have worked long and hard during their campaign, and we are here to provide those numbers.”

Robin Biloski, Anderson County commissioner and Channel 95 committee member said the television station hopes “to provide an exciting evening filled with not only voting numbers, but lively conversations filled with election and historical trivia.

“We are a government and educational television station and we are fulfilling our charter with this first-time event,” Biloski said. “I look forward to working with my fellow Commissioner Robert McKamey to ‘open the doors’ to more awareness of our public television station. Robert has a great background in Anderson County and I bring my knowledge of Oak Ridge, so I am optimistic viewers will enjoy the show.”
