St. Mary’s Fall Festival this weekend

The 65th Annual St. Mary’s Fall Festival is this weekend.

“The public is welcomed and wholeheartedly invited to join us,” a press release said. “We will be celebrating this tradition and community celebration the weekend of October 16-17, and we look for the turnout to be the best yet!”

The festivities begin on Friday, October 16, with the Knights of Columbus Spaghetti Dinner kicking off at 5 p.m. The dinner will be held in the family life center/Columbus Hall until 7 p.m., with “take out dinners” available.

“The most exciting part of Friday evening is the live auction that begins at 7 p.m.,” the release said. “Attendees thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to bid on those prized items! Some up for bid this year are date nights and family fun packages, artwork, vintage glass and silver serving pieces, exercise equipment including a bow flex and elliptical, living room, bedroom, dining and outdoor furniture, handmade quilts and afghans, jewelry, golf clubs, and a craftsman 42” riding mower. TORCH, Blossom Center have spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Saturday

Trinity Outreach Center for Hope, or TORCH, and the Blossom Center will have a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Saturday, October 3, at Grace Covenant Church.

The church is located at 320 Robertsville Road in Oak Ridge. Dine-in or carry out will be available between 5 to 8 p.m.

Tickets prices for adults are $10, children $5, and $25 for families, and they will be available at the door and in advance at Ruby Miller’s State Farm office, which is at 574 Oak Ridge Turnpike. (Telephone (865) 483-5663.)

St. Mary’s Fall Festival on Friday, Saturday

The annual St. Mary’s Fall Festival on Friday and Saturday in Oak Ridge will feature a spaghetti dinner, auction, children’s activities, baking contest, food, and entertainment.

The 64th annual festival starts Friday, October 17, with the Knights of Columbus spaghetti dinner in the Parish Life Center. Those who can’t stay for dinner can try the new “take-out” option. Doors open at 5 p.m., and take out dinners can be picked up under the covered walkway at the entrance of the Parish Life Center. Dinner prices are $8 for adults, $4 for kids, and no more than $25 per family.

The live auction will start promptly at 7 p.m. Friday, so you won’t want to leave directly after dinner, a press release said. Some of the items up for auction this year are many furniture pieces, exercise equipment, and a variety of certificates to events and places in the area. There will also be children’s activities to keep the kids happy and entertained. Those will also begin at 7 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. with a bounce house, crafts, and “Charlie Brown Pumpkin” and “Frozen” playing on the big screen, the release said. [Read more…]

St. Mary’s Fall Festival in Oak Ridge in October

The 63rd Annual St. Mary’s Fall Festival has been scheduled for Oct. 4-5. The festival is not only a tradition for St. Mary’s Parish, but one the entire community looks forward to yearly, a press release said.

The kick-off for this year’s festival will be the 2nd Annual Road Rally. This is a competition of driving accuracy and will test the team’s skills of time, speed, and distance. Teams will be made up a driver and a navigator, and prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. A gathering of all participants will follow. The date for the Road Rally is yet to be announced. Altrusa dinner and auction Wednesday

Altrusa of Oak Ridge has its annual spaghetti dinner and auction on Wednesday evening at the DoubleTree Hotel.

The dinner and musical entertainment begin at 5 p.m., the silent auction lasts from 5-6:30 p.m., and the live auction starts at 6:30 p.m. The auction includes handcrafted items, holiday gifts, and services, a press release said.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 4-­10, and admission is free for children three years old and younger, the press release said. Tickets can be purchased from an Altrusa member or at the door.

Wine will be available for sale, and one-­half the dinner cost is tax-deductible, the release said.

Altrusa is a nonprofit community service organization.
