Romance F. Carrier, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at the Jefferson City Health and Rehab in Jefferson City.
Romance was born July 26, 1935, in Wheeling, W.V., to the late George and Mildred Lorentz Frederichs. She attended the University of Michigan and received her master’s degree from the University of Tennessee. Romance met the love of her life William L. Carrier at the University of Tennessee and they were married May 16, 1958. They moved to Oak Ridge, and she was employed with Union Carbide and retired from Martin Marietta in 1998, where she was employed as an information analyst. Romance and William enjoyed traveling with trips to Japan, Moscow, Italy, Puerto Rico, Canada, and many states here in the United States. Romance was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed painting and took many art classes after her retirement.
