Pro2Serve receives five-year contract worth up to $49 million to support Oak Ridge cleanup

Professional Project Services Inc., or Pro2Serve, has received a five-year contract worth up to $49 million to provide technical support services to the Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management, or OREM. The contract was awarded June 19, the U.S. Department of Energy said in a press release.

“After conducting an extensive nationwide procurement, we are very pleased to continue our partnership with Pro2Serve,” said OREM Acting Manager Jay Mullis. “They’ve been a great asset to our program in the past, and we look forward to their valuable support as we clean and transform the Oak Ridge Reservation.”

The Oak Ridge-based company provides a wide suite of services to DOE’s Environmental Management program locally, the press release said. They are responsible for reviewing and evaluating the cost, schedule, and technical approach for upcoming and current cleanup projects. Pro2Serve, Covenant Health form joint venture in health care data analytics

Professional Project Services Inc., or Pro2Serve, and Covenant Health have formed VortexT Analytics Inc., a strategic partnership that will address the rapidly evolving field of big data analytics in health care, a press release said.

The joint venture will use VortexT, a data analytics software based on algorithms originally developed and patented by Oak Ridge National Laboratory and licensed and further advanced by Pro2Serve. VortexT is currently being used in critical national security applications and is producing valuable data, the press release said.

Barry Goss, founder and chief executive officer of Pro2Serve, calls VortexT “a disruptive big data analytics technology that is proven, sustainable, and ready to be introduced into commercial markets, starting with healthcare.

“VortexT analyzes more data in less time and at less cost, and produces more valuable information than other big data analytics technologies,” Goss said. “We also hold field-of-use licenses for applying the technology to the insurance, financial services, and legal services industries.” [Read more…]

Professional Project Services Inc., or Pro2Serve, has appointed Kristy Tan Neckowicz as president of its software subsidiary, InVizion LLC.

Neckowicz has served as the senior vice president of InVizion since March 2014.

“InVizion develops and markets project portfolio management (PPM) applications that allow executives and managers to rapidly address the impact of changing resource constraints, objectively develop and optimize revised execution strategies, and clearly communicate resulting critical decisions to stakeholders,” a press release said. Two ORHS students win UT scholarships in statewide math contest

KNOXVILLE—Two Oak Ridge High School students were among 10 from across the state who received $6,000 annual scholarships to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in this year’s UT-Pro2Serve Math Contest. More than 700 students from 51 schools all across Tennessee competed in the competition, held November 6 at UT.

The scholarship winners were:

Pro2Serve appoints new chief financial officer

Professional Project Services Inc., also known as Pro2Serve, has appointed Mark A. Haub as the company’s new chief financial officer, or CFO.

Haub replaces Paul Martin, Pro2Serve’s CFO and treasurer since February 1999. Martin retired this month.

Haub is a certified public accountant who earned his master’s of business administration in marketing, management, and strategy, and finance from the Kellogg School of Management and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Illinois State University.

He has more than 23 years of experience as a senior financial executive working in higher education, manufacturing, distribution, and retail in domestic and international markets, a press release said. Haub has negotiated terms to secure a multimillion dollar equity capital infusion to fund corporate growth initiatives, led the substantial improvement of product and services bids through implementing market-driven bid processes, played key roles in the development and execution of strategic business plans that substantially improved cash flow and new product gross margins, and provided financial and operational leadership in an entrepreneurial venture resulting in substantial revenue growth, the release said. Oak Ridge student receives UT scholarship in math contest

James Andress of Oak Ridge High School was one of 10 students who won a $4,000 annual scholarship to the University of Tennessee in an Oct. 25 math contest.

The UT-Pro2Serve Math Contest featured almost 600 students from 47 high schools.

Other scholarship winners included three students from Farragut High School in Knoxville—Melissa Yu, Alexander Selwitz, and Hyungdon Joo—and students in Brentwood, Chattanooga, Clarksville, Hendersonville, and Memphis.

The press release said the contest had two parts. All participants took a multiple-choice test on algebra and geometry called the Fundamental Exams of Remarkable Mathematical Ability and Talent (FERMAT I).

The five top scorers received a plaque. Andress was one of the top scorers. Lam Tran of Farragut High School was also a winner.

Students with the top 50 scores on the FERMAT I moved on to the FERMAT II, which included eight essay questions requiring creative and original thinking. All exams were hand-graded by faculty members from UT’s Department of Mathematics.

The second part of the contest was the Math Bowl, a double-elimination team competition. Sixty-four high school teams competed head-to-head to be the fastest to answer 10 math questions correctly, the press release said.

The contest was presented by the UT College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Mathematics and UT alumnus Barry Goss and his technical and engineering company Professional Project Services Inc., more commonly known as Pro2Serve.
