Low bid of $375,000 for Briceville library

Six bids were opened Tuesday for a project to build a new library in Briceville, and the low bid was $374,933, Anderson County Interim Mayor Myron Iwanski said.

The low bid was from Southeast Construction of Franklin, Tenn., Iwanski said. The next lowest bid was $380,000 by Evans and Alley from Anderson County.

Letter: Iwanski ‘accomplishments,’ forum no-show illustrate ‘incompetence’

To the Editor:

The League of Women Voters hosted another excellent forum for our local candidates Tuesday night in Clinton.

Unfortunately, one candidate, Acting Mayor Myron Iwanski, decided he had better things to do with his time and “went fishing.” At least that is the excuse that was read in a prepared statement by his surrogate.

Iwanski seeks re-election to Anderson County Commission

Interim Anderson County Mayor Myron Iwanski has announced that he will seek re-election to Anderson County Commission in District 8, which now includes the Woodland, Emory Valley, and Hendrix Creek precincts.

Iwanski is a former Anderson County commissioner who served as chairman of the commission for three terms. He has also served 14 years on the Anderson County Budget Committee.
