Rita M. Leslie, age 81, passed away Tuesday, July 31, in Oak Ridge after a short illness.
She was an amazing mom, a doting granny, a faithful friend, and a force of her own nature. She was the love of her late husband Bob’s life.
Albert Wade ‘Al’ Diehl
Albert Wade “Al” Diehl, age 75, passed away on Sunday, July 29, at Serene Manor Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was a charter member of the Dalewood United Methodist Church in Nashville. He served in the United States Coast Guard and completed a master’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee. He taught science, television production, and electronics in the Oak Ridge Schools for 20 years.

Frances Helen Hester, age 96, of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, at NHC Health Care Center.
She was born Feb. 10, 1916, in Johnson City, one of nine children born to Charles and Martha Hardt Bennett.

Jesse Arous Lewis, age 97, of Oak Ridge, passed away peacefully Aug. 1.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Lewis, and infant daughter, Anita Sharon Lewis; brothers Doyle, Deloy, Carl, Frank, and Lonzie Lewis; and sisters Bonnie Williford, Lizzie Allen, Lola Porter, and Bertha Davis.
Lela Jane Murray Ward, age 93, of Clinton, passed away on Monday, July 30, at the Tennova Hospice Center in Halls.
She was a member of Blowing Springs Baptist Church. Lela was active in WMU and a leader for Girl’s Auxiliary at Blowing Springs Baptist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.

Rose Ellen Manners, age 48, a resident of Wartburg, passed away Monday, July 30, at her home.
Mrs. Manners was born Aug. 23, 1963 in Wayne County, Michigan. She has lived in Tennessee since 1991.

He was born Jan. 1, 1920, in LaFollette, one of eleven children born to Laura Bell Welch and James Willis Bruce Sr.

Zella Goodman Blalock, age 81, a resident of the Marlow Community in Anderson County, passed away Monday, July 30, at Methodist Medical Center.
Mrs. Blalock was born, July 8, 1931, in Anderson County, where she has lived most of her life.

He was born December 18, 1938 in Houston, Miss., the son of Will and Mattie Lee Buchanan Steele.

William Walton Ivey, age 88, of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday, July 26, at Parkwest Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Sevier County, the son of John W. and Lurla Derrick Ivey.
Samuel Maston Braden
Samuel Matson Braden, age 86, a resident of Oliver Springs, slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God on Friday, July 27, at his home.
Mr. Braden was born, April 13, 1926, on the Braden family farm, in Oliver Springs to the late R.H. Braden and Eliza M. Lockett Braden. He was a lifelong resident of Anderson County.
