The number of voters casting ballots on the first day of early voting Friday was up from 2010, the Anderson County Election Commission said.

Elections Administrator Mark Stephens said 642 people voted Friday, up 146 from 2010.

Early voting for the Aug. 2 county general election and state and federal primary elections continues through July 28.

There are three early voting locations in Anderson County, one in Oak Ridge, a second in Clinton, and a third in Andersonville.

The Oak Ridge voting station is at the Midtown Community Center at 102 Robertsville Road.

Voters can cast ballots in Clinton at the Clinton Community Center at 101 Hicks St.

The third site, in Andersonville, is at the North Anderson County Government Center on Andersonville Highway at Andersonville Crossing.

The early voting booths are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, the Anderson County Election Commission said.

In Roane County, polling locations are the Election Commission Office in the Kingston Courthouse, the Harriman Community Center, and First Christian Church on Gum Hollow Road in Oak Ridge.

The League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge says the Roane County voting booths are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
