Trees fell and power outages were reported after a thunderstorm in Oak Ridge on Thursday.
The fallen trees and power outages were because of strong winds and heavy rain that lasted a few hours starting at about 11 a.m. Thursday, the City of Oak Ridge said.
The Oak Ridge Public Works Department and Electric Department are responding to the damage reports and making repairs, the city said.
The city posted a picture of a tree that fell across Michigan Avenue. Public Works, the Electric Department, and Police Department all responded.
The Oak Ridge Police Department reminded drivers to treat intersections with stoplights as four-way stops if they have lost power.
Key Springs Road, which goes down the north side of Black Oak Ridge into Marlow, is closed because of a fallen tree, the city said.
It wasn’t immediately clear Thursday afternoon how many residents and businesses lost power.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
