Pickinâ€™ in the Park Concertâ€”Friday, October 2, at Norris Dam State Park
Join the Friends of Norris Dam State Park for the annual Pickinâ€™ in the Park Concert held the first Friday of October from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. This event is an evening full of bluegrass music, barbecue, local craft vendors, laughter, and fun, organizers said.
The event isÂ located at the historic amphitheater and tearoom on the east side of Norris Dam State Park. There is no entrance fee, but donations to the Friends of Norris Dam are strongly encouraged.

WheelersÂ forÂ theÂ Woundedâ€”OctoberÂ 3Â atÂ WindrockÂ Park
TheÂ KnoxÂ off-road club willÂ beÂ hostingÂ theÂ WheelersÂ for theÂ Wounded rideÂ atÂ WindrockÂ ParkÂ on Saturday, OctoberÂ 3.Â This willÂ be their firstÂ annual charityÂ eventÂ for theÂ Woundedâ€™sÂ TennesseeÂ chapter.
Organizer said thereÂ willÂ be off-roading fun for wounded warriors, veterans,Â and active-duty military.
This charityÂ eventÂ willÂ benefitÂ SmokyÂ MountainÂ ServiceÂ Dogs, whoseÂ mission isÂ toÂ enhanceÂ theÂ physicalÂ andÂ psychologicalÂ qualityÂ of lifeÂ forÂ veterans withÂ disabilitiesÂ byÂ providing customÂ trainedÂ mobilityÂ assistanceÂ serviceÂ dogs.
“PleaseÂ considerÂ being a sponsorÂ for thisÂ eventÂ orÂ donating!” organizers said. “ThereÂ willÂ beÂ lotsÂ ofÂ fun things toÂ participateÂ inÂ besidesÂ just four-wheelingÂ asÂ wellÂ asÂ funÂ for theÂ kidsÂ and family!”

Historic David Hall Cabin Fall Open Houseâ€”October 3-4
Enjoy a fall open house on Saturday, October 3-Sunday, October 4, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Historic David Hall Cabin.
Visitors can tour the 1798 cabin plus other pre-Civil War cabins. Visitors can enjoy blacksmithing, butter churning, longhunter’s camp, weaving demonstrations, shingle splitting, vintage weapons, and more, organizers said.
There is no admission charge, but donations are accepted.
