Radio talk show host Hallerin Hilton Hill will moderate debates for five candidates for Anderson County mayor and sheriff on Thursday, July 10.
The debates are hosted by the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce, and they are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. July 10 at The Ritz Theater at 119 N. Main St. in Clinton.
Hill has a talk show weekday mornings on NewsTalk 98.7 in Knoxville.
The public is invited to debates and encouraged to submit questions for the candidates by Monday, June 23, a press release said. Questions can be sent to the Chamber office at 245 N. Main St., Ste. 200, Clinton, by e-mail at [email protected] or by fax to (865) 463-7480.
Candidates will not receive the questions prior to the debate, the press release said. All questions may not be addressed due to time constraints. For more information, contact the Chamber at (865) 457-2559.
The candidates for mayor are the incumbent, Republican Terry Frank; Jim Hackworth, a Democrat and former state representative; and Independent Bradley Rickett.
The candidates for sheriff are the incumbent, Democrat Paul White, and his challenger, Anthony Lay, a former Scott County sheriff who currently works for the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
