The deadline to apply for openings on Oak Ridge city boards and commissions is Friday.
The city began recruiting for the positions on Oct. 1. There are roughly 46 expiring or vacant terms on various boards and commissions, a press release said.
“With less than a week remaining, city staff would like to encourage those who are interested in serving on a board to complete the 2013 Boards and Commissions Application, which is available on the City Clerk’s departmental website, or residents can obtain paper copies in the City Clerk’s Office located in Room Number 109 in the Municipal Building, the release said.
The election for these boards will take place at a special meeting of the Oak Ridge City Council scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16.
Interested residents can also visit the city’s website to learn about the different boards’ composition, purpose, and meeting schedules, and review the special qualifications for membership to certain boards.
