The Anderson County Democratic Party has its bi-annual party convention from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Midtown Community Center in Oak Ridge.
During the convention, officers will be elected. Nominations can be made from the floor.
Annual dues will also be collected.
Vernon’s Burnin’s will serve fried catfish and all the trimmings at no cost to attendees during the sign-in period from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., a press release said. The convention will be called to order at 12:30 p.m.
The release said Steve Scarbrough will entertain before the convention. Scarbrough has been entertaining audiences for more than 40 years.
“His rich expressive voice has captured the hearts of young and old with his wide range of musical styles, including country, pop, light rock, comedy, and audience participation,” the release said.
The Midtown Community Center is at 102 Robertsville Road.
