An Oak Ridge woman driving into the sun up a slight hill on North Illinois Avenue crashed into the back of a stalled wrecker south of West Outer Drive on Monday morning, sending two people to the hospital with possible injuries, authorities said.
Elise A. Williams, 47, was taken by ambulance to Methodist Medical Center after the collision, and tow truck driver Charles T. Jones, 38, of Oliver Springs, was taken by ambulance to Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, an Oak Ridge Police Department accident report said.

A 1999 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Elise A. Williams of Oak Ridge crashed into the back of a Quality towing rollback wrecker driven by Charles T. Jones of Oliver Springs on North Illinois Avenue near West Outer Drive on Monday.
Williams, who was cited for not having proof of insurance, had turned right from West Outer Drive onto North Illinois Avenue. Facing into the sun and going up a slight hill, she said she didn’t see the Quality Towing rollback wrecker stalled in the righthand southbound lane, the report said.
Jones said he had just re-entered the tow truck after trying to determine why it was stalled and hadn’t had a chance to put on his seat belt before he was hit from behind by Williams’ Ford Ranger pickup, the report said.
Damage to both vehicles was greater than $400, the report said.
