ORFD helped fight fire in Oliver Springs

The Oak Ridge Fire Department responded to help fight a fire in Oliver Springs last week.

The fire was reported at about 1 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, in a building in the 900 block of West Tri County Boulevard, said fire photographer Tom Scott.

The initial response was by the Oliver Springs Fire Department, followed by the Marlow, Blair, and Oak Ridge fire departments on a mutual aid request, Scott said. [Read more…]

Oliver Springs police seize pirated DVDs valued at $35,000 at flea market

The Oliver Springs Police Department seized $35,000 worth of movies and cited a Loudon couple on misdemeanor charges after allegedly finding 1,740 pirated DVDs at a flea market on West Tri County Boulevard last week.

Gordon Gerald Mashburn, 64, and Wilma June Mashburn, 57, both of Loudon, had a table set up behind a pickup truck at the flea market, where they were selling the movies on Tuesday morning, July 9, OSPD Sgt. David M. Laxton said in an incident report. [Read more…]

Oliver Springs has Christmas parade Saturday

Oliver Springs will have its Christmas parade on Saturday.

The opening ceremony starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Court of Flags on West Tri County Boulevard.

The parade lineup starts at Arrowhead Park at 4:45 p.m., and the parade begins at 5:30 p.m.
