You need a person all your own.” So I sat down to write this post for the nice shelter volunteers because apparently that’s the kind of thing they do—find nice people for extremely intelligent and lovable, slightly adorable kitties who are…I shudder to type this…LAPLESS. That’s right: I have no lap to call my own. Could you be persuaded to volunteer yours?

I am sponsored at 50 percent!—DZ [Read more…]

I am Katniss, and I am one year old, spayed, and vaccinated. I am in a loving foster care family.

I was pretty upset here; woudn’t you be; it stinks being in a small steel jail. I needed out badly. Who couldn’t love me? [Read more…]

AC Commission meeting wrap-up

By Oak Ridge Today Staff Leave a Comment

Information from WYSH Radio

The Anderson County Commission met for the first time since January on Monday night and voted unanimously to release the $20,000 in funding that had been held back from the Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department and place them back in the rotation (beginning next year) for county purchase of a new fire truck after the department abandoned its controversial and wildly unpopular subscription program and returned to all-volunteer status.

Commissioner Phil Warfield said that the department “went above and beyond what Commission asked of them” as far as making things right with county leaders and more importantly the citizens they serve.

Commissioners were also introduced to the new fire chief, Del Kennedy. [Read more…]

Hello there…my name is Corky.

I am one beautiful cat that lost my home recently, along with several of my siblings. It was so sad for me and my family, and now we are all being split up. I am close to my sibling Sugar, and it would be really special if you could adopt us together.

I have been taken good care of and am in need of a new home. I am good with other cats and okay with dogs.

I am seven years old and already neutered, so ready to go home. Today is not soon enough! [Read more…]

I am one sweet and precious little Alysse. I am low-key, quiet, and friendly.

They were loving on me in the shelter, but I got very blue, and Miss Bev decided to get me outta here for some spa R&R in a foster home.
