Candidate forum for City Council, school board on Tuesday

The League of Women Voters is having a Tuesday evening forum for candidates for Oak Ridge City Council and Board of Education.

The forum starts at 7 p.m. in the Oak Ridge High School Amphitheater.

There are five candidates for three City Council seats in the Nov. 6 election. They include the three incumbents, L. C. “Charlie” Hensley, Charles J. (Chuck) Hope, Jr., and Ellen D. Smith. They are being challenged by communications professional Trina Baughn and business executive Kelly Callison.

There are three candidates for two seats on the Oak Ridge Board of Education, the two incumbents, Angi Agle and Keys Fillauer, and former City Council member Leonard Abbatiello.

The unopposed candidate for Oak Ridge City Judge, Robert A. McNees III, has been invited to make a two-minute statement.

Early voting starts Oct. 17.
