Helen Marie Guymon, 88, of Oak Ridge, passed away on July 3 at Tennova Hospice in Knoxville.

Helen was born January 6, 1924, in Missouri to parents John Earl and Marie Nicholson Baker.

She was a member of Grace Covenant Church and was a dynamic and loving woman with many talents.

As a wife and mother, she held together a family and home with life and exuberance along with her husband, Ralph. As an artist, her talent expanded throughout the U.S., especially in the East Tennessee area where she owned Guymon Gallery for ten years and taught several art classes.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Herbert Guymon; son, Frederick Wayne Guymon; grandson, Matthew Deane Guymon; and two brothers.

Her survivors include sons, Ken and wife, Tracy, and Greg and wife, Sharon, all of Oak Ridge; brother, Rex Baker and wife, Jean, of Stockton, Mo.; former daughter-in-law, Shirley Guymon, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Jon and wife, Jana, Cheri, Dominy, William, Cody, Mason, Morgan, and Mickinnon; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 9, at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with Dr. Larry Dipboye officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary.

The family requests that memorials be in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
