MORE2, the energy efficiency program that makes free upgrades to qualifying homes, has significantly raised its income qualifications, effective immediately, a press release said.

“If you make $122,670 or below, you may be eligible for upgrades,” the press release said.

Call (865) 375-4656 or visit MakeOREE.com to see if you qualify.

If you want to learn more about how to reduce energy usage in your home and apply for MORE2 help, you can attend this public meeting:

  • Tuesday, November 15, 4-5:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Library, 1051 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

Attendees will receive energy-saving items and low- to no-cost energy-saving tips to immediately improve energy savings in their homes, along with information on other energy-saving programs, the press release said.

MORE2, funded by Tennessee Valley Authority, is seeking homes in Oak Ridge to install energy-efficient upgrades, such as heat pump air conditioners and water heaters, the press release said.

Recent participants in MORE2 are thrilled with their upgrades, telling the team:

  • I was very impressed with this program and very thankful!
  • I feel safer in my home thanks to the electrical upgrades.
  • This is a great program. I’m enjoying a nice supply of hot water.
  • New HVAC unit is a wonderful blessing.
  • The MORE2 team was amazing. Thank you!

In addition to installing upgrades, MORE2 is working to empower residents of the Oak Ridge community with energy efficiency education, ultimately leading to lower electric bills and a healthier environment, the press release said. Qualified homes must be at least 20 years old and have electric heat.

For more information or to apply, visit MakeOREE.com or call (865) 375-4656.
