The Oak Ridge High School Boys Basketball Boosters have a fundraising golf tournament on Saturday, August 13.
It’s their 19th annual golf tournament. This year’s event—a four-man scramble format—will be at Centennial Golf Course in Oak Ridge.
The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. August 13 with a shotgun start. The tournament costs just $75 per person, a press release said.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. with breakfast and free range balls for participants. A Mulligan Package is also available for $25, which includes mulligans, a red tee, a door prize ticket, and a putting contest ticket, the press release said.
There will be prizes awarded to the teams finishing first in the top two flights, as well as awards for the closest-to-the-pin on three different holes. In addition, a longest drive competition will be part of the tournament.
All proceeds will go to help fund the 2016-2017 boys basketball team at Oak Ridge High School, which hopes to bring home the state championship this season. A lunch will be provided for all players at the conclusion of the event.
Golf teams and hole sponsors are still needed. For more information, contact ORHS boys basketball coach Aaron Green at (865) 423-1829 or tournament director Matt Reedy at (865) 306-7162.
