“Movie Nights” for Oak Ridge middle school students will be Friday, June 28, at First Presbyterian Church at the corner of Oak Ridge Turnpike and Lafayette Drive. The movie will be “Ramona and Beezus.”

Children ages 10 to 13 are invited to bring their friends to play table games, create crafts, and enjoy pizza and drinks, as well as watch the movie, from 6 to 9 p.m. during the second and fourth Friday of every month, a press release said.

Hannah Norris, director of youth and children’s ministries at the church, said leaders of the church are trying to fill a void by giving “kids in this age group” a fun and safe place to gather.

“We started this program in December and plan to continue it through the year,” Norris said. “Support comes from donations. Whether it’s 50 cents or $5, kids pay what they can. We have three adults here to help supervise, so parents don’t have to worry.”

The activities are located in rooms 101 and 102 of the Activities Building, the white building next to the church sanctuary. The fun will start in room 102.

All movies shown at the church are rated either G or PG.
