The Anderson County 7th Judicial District Crime Task Force searched a home at 248 Carver Avenue in Oak Ridge on Tuesday and arrested two people and  seized about two pounds of marijuana and more than $13,000 in cash, according to a press release provided by the Oak Ridge Police Department.
The release said an adult male and female were arrested, and a warrant was being sought for a third individual.
The investigation continues, the press release said.
The task force includes members of the Anderson County District Attorney General’s Office and the Oak Ridge and Clinton police departments.
Andrew Howe says
I’m glad we have an effective drug task force. But can we perhaps use them to target offenses more detrimental than pot?
I know, I know, the police just enforce the law, and do so when they see laws broken. But today, when pills and meth are the real dangers (and let’s be frank, marijuana has never been a real danger), it almost seems a shame to waste their time and budget going after pot dealers.
Granted, a lot of dealers just deal whatever they can, so maybe the task force was expecting pills and meth but only found pot during the raid.
