Small business owners can learn more about doing business with the government during a Jan. 15 seminar at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

The free seminar, scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Jan 15, is being offered by the Tennessee Small Business Development Center and Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce.

The featured speaker is Paul Middlebrooks, marketing consultant at the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services. The program is designed to introduce business owners and managers to the diversity of government purchasing.

“Participants will learn how to get involved in the governmental contracting process and bid successfully in the government marketplace,” a press release said.

For more information or to sign up, contact Jutta Bangs at (865) 483-2668 or jbangs@tsbdc.org. Although the seminar is free, reservations are required, a press release said.

The Tennessee Small Business Development Center advises and assists entrepreneurs and small business owners at no cost to them.

The Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce is located at 1400 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
