A city contractor will start work on Monday to relocate and install a larger sanitary sewer line that runs underneath Warehouse Road in east Oak Ridge, a press release said.

The road will be closed just east of Science.gov Way while the excavation work is being done. The work could take three days, although the scheduled could be affected by weather, the release said.

The work will be done by contractor Morgan Construction Inc.

The city asked drivers to avoid the area if possible but said Warehouse Road east of the road closure will be open to local traffic.

“Through traffic may use Science.gov Way to Oak Ridge Turnpike to Melton Lake Drive as a detour,” the release said.

For more information, call the Oak Ridge Public Works Department at (865) 425-1875 or visit the city’s website at www.oakridgetn.gov.
