New traffic signal at Woodland Town Center, South Illinois

Posted at 12:44 pm November 6, 2012

A new traffic signal is expected to start operating Wednesday, Nov. 14, in front of the Woodland Town Center on South Illinois Avenue.

The new shopping center includes a Aubrey’s restaurant and a larger, relocated Panera Bread.

The traffic light is at the intersection of South Illinois and a new road called Woodland Terrace East. It replaces a short section of Quincy Avenue that was removed to make way for Woodland Town Center.

In a press release, the city said the new traffic signal will allow access to Illinois Avenue for Aubrey’s and Panera Bread, the Woodland neighborhood, and other future developments. The former Dean Stallings Ford site on the west side of Illinois Avenue will have access to the signal when that property re-opens, the release said.

Installation of the traffic light could be delayed due to bad weather, the city said.

For more information, call the Oak Ridge Public Works Department at (865) 425-1875.

i The real sad thing about the Red light is that 90% of the time it is not needed— I drove to knoxville around noon and no one was turning but ariound 4 o’clock and there were vehicles all over the place.

Well I guess this thing is brought about byOBAMAcare or is this ROMINEY CHANGE
Two different men running for President who have their hands in my pocket.

I just happen to think that on Sunday I travel down Illinois to go to hospital for lunch

and the is 8 deep —I mean you are lucky to count 8 vehicles.

This shows the thinking coming from city council.
I think we need another red light camera
