Cold War Patriots fair offers free health care screenings, information

Nuclear workers and seniors will be offered free health care screenings, information, and entertainment during the fourth annual Cold War Patriots Resource Fair next week, a press release said.

The fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 27 in the New Hope Center at the Y-12 National Security Complex.

Organized by the nonprofit Cold War Patriots, the fair provides services and information to local seniors, and current and former workers at Y-12, the former K-25 site, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

They will have access to medical screenings, health care providers, financial resources, government benefits programs, and more, the press release said. Special features include complimentary blood pressure and oxygen saturation readings, entertainment from local musicians, and free seasonal flu shots for qualifying Medicare recipients.

Admission to the resource fair is free, and door prizes will be given away every hour with a flat screen television as the grand prize, the press release said.

The New Hope Center is located at 602 Scarboro Road.
