Hal Doyle

Hal Doyle of Oak Ridge passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, surrounded by family, after a two-and-a-half year battle with cancer.

Harold E. Doyle Jr. was born March 5, 1953, in Louisville, Ky., and married Carol Ann Kibbey on Sept. 22, 1984, in Midway, Ky.

He moved to Oak Ridge in 1990, and he was a long time member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Hal worked at Duro-Last Roofing for 16 years, where he was honored for his hard work and dedication at a 15-year ceremony.

Hal’s interests included sports, NASCAR racing, photography, and spending time with friends and family. Hal loved the Lord and trusted in Him always.

Hal was preceded in death by his parents, Harold E. and Juanita Doyle.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Doyle, of Oak Ridge, and two daughters, Christi and her husband, Adam Dorsey, and their three children Jacob, Grace, and Benjamin, of Louisville, Ky., and Shelly and her husband, Milton Stanley Jr., and their daughter Evangeline, of Murfreesboro. Other survivors include his three brothers, Rod Doyle and his wife Maureen, of Apopka, Fla., Kenny Doyle and his wife Vickie, of Fountain Run, Ky., and Tim Doyle and his fiancé, Julie Stephens, of Monroe, Ohio; and three sisters, Nettie Walling and her husband Jim, of Mt. Washington, Ky., Patti Sanders and her husband Bobby, of Vine Grove, Ky., and Benita Lindenmayer and her husband Rick, of Louisville, Ky. Hal is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Kathy Cushman and her husband Bob, of Rye Brook, N.Y., and Connie Kibbey, of Morehead, Ky., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

The visitation was held at Weatherford Mortuary of Oak Ridge at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, and the funeral service followed at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
