In a special meeting Wednesday, the Oak Ridge Board of Education will pick a company that will help recruit the school system’s next superintendent.
The new superintendent will replace Tom Bailey, who is retiring at the end of the year. Bailey has been superintendent since 2002.
School Board members have interviewed three search firms, according to The Oak Ridger: the Tennessee School Boards Association; Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates; and Ray and Associates.
Wednesday’s meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the School Administration Building on New York Avenue.
Oak Ridge school officials have budgeted $30,000 to pay for the hunt for a new superintendent.
