Oak Ridge officials have announced that they have temporarily closed the gravel road extension of Tuskegee Drive and plan to temporarily close the Gallaher Recreation Area boat ramp on Monday.

The Tuskegee Drive extension was scheduled to be closed on Thursday, and it will be shut down through Friday, May 18, for road repairs.

Detours will be clearly marked, and the closure is subject to change depending upon the weather, a city press release said.

The boat ramp could be closed for about two weeks as work crews install a 12-inch water line under the Clinch River near west Bear Creek Road in Oak Ridge and Culton Lane in Roane County.

For more information, call the Oak Ridge Public Works Department at (865) 425-1875.
