Oak Ridge Civic Ballet presents The Ugly Duckling on Saturday, March 31

The Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association will present two one-act ballets on Saturday, March 31st.

The first act is The Ugly Duckling, a vignette ballet with narration telling the famous story by Hans Christian Andersen, directed by Sharon Nicklow-Cousins. This is an original work by ORCBA, which was first performed in 2006. The dances feature many creatures and characters, including Ducklings, Swans, Geese, Wood Ducks, Forest Animals, Woodsmen, and Chicks. Frank Murphy of WWST Star 102.1 will narrate.

The second act is Masquerade by Aram Khachaturian, a ballet with both dark and lively moments. This act features the Junior and Senior Corps of ORCBA, and is directed by Molly Koon Quist.

There are two show times on March 31st, at 2PM and 7PM. Both performances are at the Oak Ridge High School Auditorium. Tickets are $20.00 for Adults, $15.00 for Seniors 55 and up, and $10.00 for Students 5 and up. Tickets are available online at www.orcba.org and at the door; other ticket locations can be found listed on the web site.
