Andersonville man finds alcohol, shotgun bad mix

An Andersonville man was arrested Tuesday night after his wife called deputies to their home following an incident that allegedly involved alcohol and a shotgun.

William Williams, 41, was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment and remained in custody at last check at the Anderson County Detention Facility in Clinton.

His wife told deputies that her husband had choked her after consuming an excessive amount of alcohol and fired a round from a shotgun through the front door of their mobile home from inside. The woman was not seriously injured and was treated at the scene by emergency personnel, authorities said. [Read more…]

Roane County man accused of shooting stepson in leg during dispute

A Roane County man is accused of shooting his stepson in the leg with a shotgun during a family dispute Thursday night, the Roane County Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooting occurred at about 8:45 p.m. Thursday at 178 Maddox Hollow Road, which is south of Kingston between Watts Bar Lake and Interstate 75. [Read more…]

Three men allegedly invade home; steal shotgun, watches

Three men pushed their way into the home of a 78-year-old man on Ulysses Lane on Wednesday night and allegedly stole a 12-gauge shotgun, a wallet, and three watches, authorities said.

The Oak Ridge Police Department said the home invasion happened at about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday. The victim answered a knock at the door, and three men wearing dark clothes, blue jeans, and masks allegedly pushed their way into the home, demanding jewelry, pills, and guns, according to a report by ORPD Officer Michael E.
