A Clinton woman died after her car veered off East Tri County Boulevard in Oliver Springs on Friday morning and flipped, authorities said.
Wanda Currier, 67, who lived on Marlow Road in Anderson County, died shortly after the crash at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, Oliver Springs Police Department Sgt. Kevin Armes said.

One person was taken to an Oak Ridge hospital after a westbound car went down a 15-foot embankment and landed on its roof in heavy brush next to East Tri County Boulevard in Oliver Springs on Friday morning, authorities said.
Authorities aren’t releasing the name of the female driver or her condition, Oliver Springs Police Department Sgt. Kevin Armes said. She was taken to Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

A Clinton man was arrested Friday in Oliver Springs after he allegedly tried to sell a stolen truck and utility trailer to a scrap metal business.
Oliver Springs Police were called to Tri-County Metals on Friday on a report of a suspicious individual. Employees told police that 29-year-old Nathan Bradley Welch had tried to sell them a Ford F150, a trailer, and some diesel fuel tanks but did not have the titles for the truck or the trailer or any information about the tanks.
The Oliver Springs Police Department has wrapped up a four-month undercover operation targeting illegal drug sales, and 27 people have been indicted on 56 charges, according to WYSH Radio in Clinton.
Thirteen of the suspects were indicted in Anderson County, and the remaining 14 in Roane County, WYSH said. Police say three of the suspects were indicted on charges related to the sale and delivery of marijuana while the rest centered on the sale and delivery of prescription drugs.
Last weekend, Oliver Springs police began rounding up the suspects and at last check had arrested 19 of them, WYSH said.
Two others were found incarcerated on unrelated charges, and six more are being sought.

An Oliver Springs man was charged with aggravated kidnapping and domestic assault after he allegedly brandished a butcher knife while arguing with his wife—from whom he was separated—laid on top of her, held the knife to his throat, and told her she could not leave, authorities said.
Mark T. Phillips, 36, of Half Moon Road went to the victim’s home on Edmonds Drive at about 7 p.m. Thursday. He let her take children in the home to school at about 7 a.m. Friday, and she sought refuge at the Oliver Springs Police Department, according to affidavits filed in Anderson County General Sessions Court by Oliver Springs Sgt. Rick Hamby.
There were four children asleep in the house at the time of the Thursday night argument, court records said. They range in age from 6 to 13.
Oliver Springs officers tried to locate Phillips, but he had fled. They later found him at an abandoned house near Foxwood Circle. He was aggressive toward police, the affidavits said.
In addition to aggravated kidnapping and domestic assault, he has also been charged with aggravated criminal trespassing. He remained jailed Monday afternoon.
