Letter: Remembering Minnie Thompson

To the Editor:

I keep thinking of Minnie Thompson and some of her attempts to make things better for Oak Ridge citizens.

She showed the documentation of how she had attempted to get automatic doors added to the Oak Ridge Post Office.

I said, “Minnie, this is a prime example of how Oak Ridge sets up a power of ‘four’ that never writes letter for its citizens that have no spokesman.” [Read more…]

Federal agents are investigating the alleged theft of a small amount of mail from the Jackson Square Branch of the Oak Ridge Post Office.

Federal agents are investigating the alleged theft of a small amount of mail from the Jackson Square Branch of the Oak Ridge Post Office, a spokesman said Friday.

On Thursday, special agents detained and questioned a person they believed was responsible for the theft, said Special Agent Scott Balfour, public information officer for the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General in Cleveland, Ohio. [Read more…]
