Feast with the Beasts at Knoxville Zoo on Aug. 17

The Knoxville Zoo’s Feast with the Beasts will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 7 to 11 p.m. Feast with the Beasts is one of the zoo’s biggest annual fundraisers.

There will be food and drinks throughout the zoo from more than 35 restaurants, wineries, breweries, and distributors. A complete list of participating vendors can be found on Knoxville Zoo’s website. [Read more…]

Children’s Museum hosts Wonderful Wednesdays

Magician Mark Young will be featured at Wonderful Wednesday at the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge on June 19. (Submitted photo)

The sleight-of-hand tricks of a magician will be featured at Wonderful Wednesday, from 11 a.m.-noon June 19 at the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge. Mark Young will bring his entertaining magic show to the museum, delighting children with his magic tricks.

Young was a professional magician for 20 years, working in such locations as the Big Red Boat cruise line of Walt Disney World, Cypress Gardens in Florida, and Opryland in Nashville. The magician began learning tricks as a child in Oak Ridge and has entertained children and adults at past museum events. [Read more…]

Feast with the Beasts on Saturday at Knoxville Zoo

On Saturday, Feast with the Beasts comes to the Knoxville Zoo again from 7 to 11 p.m.

Feast-goers can enjoy food and drinks from more than 35 different restaurants, wineries, breweries and distributors, a press release from the zoo said. A list of vendors can be found on the zoo’s website at www.knoxville-zoo.org.

‘Close Encounters’ at Knoxville Zoo Saturday

This Saturday, the Knoxville Zoo is offering a chance to experience its Close Encounters of the Wild Kind program. This summer program gives visitors the chance to take a behind-the-scenes tour and meet some “residents” at the Knoxville Zoo.
