On Monday, March 9, you can help local families simply by eating out! On that day, participating restaurants will donate a portion of sales to support Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC).

March’s featured Dine & Donate supporters are five Anderson County Subway restaurants: two locations in Clinton, one in Oak Ridge at 1968 Oak Ridge Turnpike, and one each in Oliver Springs and Rocky Top. Known for sandwiches topped with your choice of fresh ingredients, Subway also offers daily soups, pizza, salads, and fresh-baked cookies, a press release said. [Read more…]

You can enjoy great food and support an important organization on Monday, October 14. That’s when several area restaurants will donate a portion of their sales to Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties, or ADFAC, for Dine & Donate.

Participating Dine & Donate restaurants are Dean’s, Gallo Loco, Hoskins, Burchfield’s, Mediterranean Delight, Razzleberry’s, The Soup Kitchen, and Subway locations in Clinton, Oak Ridge (at 1968 Oak Ridge Turnpike), Oliver Springs, and Rocky Top.

October’s featured Dine & Donate supporter is Dean’s Restaurant & Bakery, which is located in Oak Ridge’s historic Jackson Square.

“Dean’s has been a favorite among locals for years,” said Jamie LaRose, ADFAC development director. “However, on October 9, viewers around the world got a little ‘taste’ of the restaurant’s hospitality and menu.” [Read more…]

Enjoy fantastic food, support an important nonprofit organization, and qualify for a $25 gift card—all at the same time—on Monday, August 12.

Several area restaurants are donating a portion of their sales to Aid To Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties, or ADFAC. Participating restaurants are Dean’s, Gallo Loco, Hoskins, Burchfield’s, Mediterranean Delight, Razzleberry’s, The Soup Kitchen, and Subway locations in Clinton, Oak Ridge (1968 Oak Ridge Turnpike), Oliver Springs, and Rocky Top, a press release said.

This month, in addition to enjoying a great meal and helping ADFAC at the same time, there’s an added bonus of a Photo Contest. ADFAC needs fresh, new photos to publicize its monthly Dine & Donate event, the press release said.

Enjoy fantastic food and support an amazing organization at the same time!

On Monday, June 10, you can beat the heat by staying out of the kitchen while supporting a fantastic organization serving the community, a press release said. Several area restaurants are donating a portion of their sales on Monday to Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties, or ADFAC.

The featured partner restaurant for June is Razzleberry’s, located in historic Jackson Square in Oak Ridge. This fun restaurant has become an important part of the Oak Ridge community, the press release said.

“Come play in the splash pad in Jackson Square, take your picture with the pigs all around the restaurant, and get some fantastic ice cream, too,” the press release said. “It’s a perfect day!” [Read more…]

On Monday, April 8, several area restaurants are donating a portion of their sales to Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC).

“Enjoy a fantastic lunch or dinner out, and help a valuable organization at the same time,” a press release said. “It’s a win-win!”

The featured partner restaurant for April is Mediterranean Delight, located at 160 Bus Terminal Rd, #A, in Oak Ridge.

Did you know you can support a fantastic organization in our community just by eating? Does it sound too good to be true? The second Monday of each month marks the Dine and Donate promotion for Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties, or ADFAC. Several area restaurants have pledged to donate a portion of their sales for the day to support ADFAC’s important programs to promote self-sustainability for families in our area, a press release said.

The featured restaurant for March is Gallo Loco Mexican restaurant at 80 East Tennessee Avenue in Oak Ridge. The press release said this cozy Mexican restaurant is regularly mentioned as a favorite by locals, and their friendly atmosphere can’t be beat! Stop by on Monday, March 12, and find out for yourself why this spot will become one of your favorites, too!

On Monday, November 13, thirteen restaurant locations throughout the county will donate a portion of their sales to support Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC).  The event, Dine & Donate, happens on the second Monday of each month.

November 13 is your time to enjoy a hot, delicious bowl of chili or soup compliments of The Soup Kitchen, 47 East Tennessee Avenue, as a featured part of the Dine and Donate program, a press release said.

The restaurant’s menu of soups and sandwiches changes daily, and it’s been said they make the best Philly Cheese Steak sandwich in the city. The restaurant also features fresh salads and homemade breads. Gail Dittmer, manager of the eatery, said the store does lots of catering to area businesses with the two Soup Kitchen trucks that deliver hot provisions. [Read more…]

Tucked away in the end of Ridgeway Center, Mediterranean Delight offers a taste of Middle-Eastern fare from owners Najah and Riad Rejoub.

The little restaurant will be one of 10 participating eateries that will donate a portion of their sales to support Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC) through the Dine and Donate program this coming Monday, October 9.

The Rejoubs are from Jordan and have owned the restaurant for 13 years. Some of the menu items include dips like hummus and baba ghanouj, with pita chips sprinkled with zaatar, a Jordanian mix of spices and herbs. Other culinary features include tabouli salads, kubeh, grape leave rolls, chicken skewers, and gyros, a press release said.
