Medicaid expansion discussed at next Interagency Coalition Meeting

A possible expansion of Medicaid will be discussed at an Anderson County Interagency Coalition meeting next week.

Representatives of all health and social service providers in Anderson County are invited to attend, a press release said.

The meeting will be held at the Anderson County Health Department from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Few months after fire, Magic Wok passes city inspections, needs one from county

Oak Ridge Fire Department at Magic Wok

Damaged by smoke in November, the Magic Wok restaurant, which has been closed for several months, has passed all city inspections but still needs one from the county.

Several months after it was damaged by smoke, the Magic Wok restaurant has passed all city inspections, and the diner now needs an inspection from the Anderson County Health Department, Oak Ridge Assistant Fire Chief Josh Waldo said Thursday.

The landmark Oak Ridge diner on Tyler Road passed a fire inspection Thursday morning, Waldo said.

The Magic Wok has been closed since  it was damaged by smoke in November after food was left cooking on a stove unattended. Firefighters didn’t see any flames that night, but they found smoke and high temperatures.

Limited adult, plenty of kids’ flu vaccine at Anderson Health Department

Information from WYSH Radio

Seasonal influenza vaccine is still available at the Anderson County Health Department. The flu vaccine will be offered during normal clinic hours at 710 N. Main Street in Clinton.

Call the Health Department at (865) 425-8801 to make an appointment to get your flu vaccine.

There are a limited number of adult shots remaining, but there is an ample supply of the vaccine for children.
