The Anderson County Democratic Party will celebrate Black History Month at its meeting and potluck from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 22, at the Claxton Community Center, a press release said. The guests will include a candidate for Anderson County trustee.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a main dish, side dish, or dessert to share for the potluck, the press release said.
“However, as always, all are welcome, and bringing food is optional,” the press release said.
Guest vocalist Delores Cole will provide entertainment. Other guests include a candidate for Anderson County trustee, Ebony Capshaw, who will speak about growing up in Oak Ridge and her candidacy for public office. Local resident Rose Weaver will present a history of the Scarboro community.
The Claxton Community Center is located at 1150 Edgemoor Road in Clinton.
The ACDP normally holds its general meetings on the third Thursday of each month. Venues and times are announced on their Facebook page and website. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/AndersonCountyTNDemocrats or www.andersoncountydemocraticparty.com.
