The Oak Ridge Wildcats football team ends spring practice with a scrimmage against Seymour at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville today (Friday, May 20).
Oak Ridge will scrimmage against Seymour, Wildcats Coach Joe Gaddis said. The scrimmage is scheduled to start at 6 p.m., and it’s in the UT indoor practice facility.
That’s generally a closed facility, but since high schools are scrimmaging there family members and parents can attend, Gaddis said. AÂ few fans might be able to as well, but they better get there early, and they need to bring chairs, Gaddis said.
“It’s not made for spectators,” he said.
It’s the first and only scrimmage of the spring for the Wildcats. They will scrimmage twice more this year, once on July 29 and again on August 5.
The Wildcats had 15 days to get in 10 practices this spring, and this is day number 15 and practice number 10, Gaddis said. Spring practice started May 2.
After this week, the Wildcats have two more weeks of school, with exams scheduled the second week.
The team starts back with conditioning and weight lifting on June 6, and practice resumes in July.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
