Schools in Oak Ridge, Anderson County, Clinton, and Roane County will be closed again Thursday, January 21, because of the winter weather and hazardous road conditions.
“Please stay warm and if you must travel, please do so safely,” Roane County Schools said.
Anderson County Mayor Terry Frank said county government will also be closed Thursday.
“Too much material on the roads and no chance of thawing through the night,” Frank said.
But temperatures are supposed to rise Thursday, so county government plans to be open on its regular schedule on Friday, Frank said.
Roane County Executive Ron Woody said the Roane County Courthouse will also be closed Thursday.
Clinton City Hall will open late Thursday; city offices will not open until 11 a.m.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
