An Andersonville man was killed Sunday night while riding his motorcycle in Roane County, according to WYSH Radio in Clinton.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that Larry Eugene Ballard had been headed north on Highway 27 in Harriman at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday when a westbound Chevy Cavalier driven by 34-year-old Crystal Laymance turned left onto the highway in front of Ballard’s Harley-Davidson, WYSH said.
Ballard was wearing his helmet but died in the crash, the radio station said. Laymance was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured.
The THP report indicated that citations are pending, and a criminal investigation is ongoing, WYSH said. Alcohol did not play a role in the accident, the radio station said, but a routine drug test was reportedly ordered for Laymance.
