CLINTON—Anderson County Interim Mayor Myron Iwanski raised slightly more in campaign contributions in the past four months than County Commissioner Buzz Patrick.
Iwanksi raised $7,075 in campaign contributions from April 1 to July 23, and Patrick collected $6,237, according to campaign financial disclosure reports.
Patrick and his wife Laurel loaned the campaign $2,809, making their total receipts higher than Iwanski’s. Iwanski loaned his campaign $1,000.
Both men are running for Anderson County Commission in today’s special election, hoping to represent District 8, which includes Emory Valley, Hendrix Creek, and Woodland in Oak Ridge. Patrick was appointed to the seat in March 2011 after Iwanski was named interim mayor.
Patrick spent more than Iwanski—$7,616 plus a $1,000 loan repayment, compared to $4,560 in expenditures and a $1,000 loan repayment for Iwanski.
Iwanski listed itemized contributions—donations of $100 or more—from William Wilcox, Joe Lenhard, Joe Hollingsworth, CRR LLC, Tom Lakers, Steve and Sheree Heatherly, Pete and Wanda Craven, and John Chilton.
Patrick listed itemized contributions from Terry L. McGhee, Mike and Sandy Lloyd, Chuck and Mary Hope, Rick and Kim Howard, Karen and Steve Clark, Michael and Amy O’Brien, Paige and Michael Russell, Milan and Priti Sheths, Brandon Cottrell, and John Chilton.
Patrick’s top expenses were $3,177 to American Reprographics in Oak Ridge for campaign literature, printing, and postage; $1,548 to Parrott Printing of Knoxville for yard signs and stands; and $450 to Knoxville Premier Entertainment for a disc jockey and music at a campaign fundraising party.
Iwanski’s top expenses were $1,017 to American Reprographics in Oak Ridge for printing, $798 to the U.S. Post Office for postage, and $533 to Speedy Signs of Lake City, Fla., for signs.
