Resurfacing work on Emory Valley Road is expected to start on Monday, November 3, officials said.
The work will be done by Rogers Group Inc., working under contract for the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
The portion of Emory Valley Road to be resurfaced will begin west of Davidson Lane and proceeds west about 1.3 miles to Lafayette Drive, a city press release said.
The contractor will first place work zone signs, with milling operations expected to begin on Wednesday November 5, the press release said. The project includes milling, resurfacing, concrete repairs, and installation of handicap ramps at various locations. The project is expected to take approximately three weeks.
Access to local business will be available throughout the project, but intermittent lane closures will be needed and some driveways will be temporarily blocked to allow equipment to operate in front of them, the release said. Motorists passing through the area to a destination that is not a local business are encouraged to seek alternate routes, the release said.
The project schedule could change depending upon the weather.
