The Oak Ridge Lady Wildcat volleyball team took on district rival Clinton High School on Thursday night.
The Lady Wildcats beat the Lady Dragons in straight sets: 25-10, 25-22, and 25-15. They were led by seniors Rachel Card (#27), Mattie Livengood (#12), Sami Viau (#3), Emily Campbell (#30), and Rachel Loeffler (#21).
It was a well-played match, with contributions coming from all of the varsity players.
Standouts included seniors:
- Rachel Card, #27—13 attempts, seven kills, four digs, one solo block, and nine points;
- Mattie Livengood, #13—12 attempts, nine kills, nine points, and eight digs; and
- Sami Viau, #3—four service aces, four digs, and seven points.
Contributing to the win were:
- Emma Milloway, #13—15 attempts, 12 kills, 10 points, and one dig; and
- Alex Sherles, #25—nine attempts, seven kills, five service aces, 15 assists, and 11 points.
Freshmen standouts included:
- Emily Lawless, #17—freshman setter with one kill, four digs, and 14 assists; and
- Reagan Dickens, #4—freshman libero with five service aces, seven digs, and seven points.
The Lady Wildcats traveled this weekend to Chattanooga for the TN Tandem volleyball tournament being held at GPS.
The team’s next home match will be Monday, September 15, versus Bearden High School.
