Dave Fall of Oak Ridge was recently inducted as a member of the Tennessee Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame.
Fall is the broker, lead auctioneer, senior appraiser, and owner of Dave Fall Realty and Auction in Oak Ridge.
Fall, who served as vice president of the TAA, as well as the organization’s president in 2004-2005, is also a member of the National Auctioneers Association.
Auctioneer William “Bear†Stephenson, of Clinton, presented the Hall of Fame plaque to Fall during the state organization’s recent winter convention in Nashville, a press release said.
According to the TAA, the organization’s Hall of Fame members are nominated and selected by previous Hall of Fame inductees. The Hall of Fame recognizes auctioneers “for outstanding promotion, dedication, and contribution to the auction profession†and the business world.
Fall has worked in the auction business since 1958, and has held both auctioneer and real estate licenses since 1994. He is a graduate of the Missouri Auction School in Kansas City, Mo., the Appraisers Guild of America, and is a personal property appraiser and certified estate specialist through the Auction Marketing Institute. He also holds the prestigious CAI designation through the Certified Auctioneers Institute, the press release said.
Fall also spent 23 years as a field engineer with IBM, handling large government and corporate retail sales and banking accounts.
A Vietnam veteran, Fall served from 1966-1968 as a sergeant in the United States Army Engineers. He is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Fall attended Miami University in Middletown, Ohio, The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., and the United Electronics Institute in Louisville, Ky.
