Oak Ridge Today has added a 2012 election section, hoping to keep voters informed about the candidates and campaign issues. Think of it as our version of a voter’s guide.
The section can be accessed by clicking on the 2012 Election link in the navigation bar at the top of every page.
Please let us know if there are features you’d like to see, or particular election-year stories you’d like us to cover.

I know it may be hard, but there was an election a while back and the newspaper put out a comprehensive evaluation that helped me to vote for like minded people. It had the person’s name, their party affiliation, their previous/current occupation, and where they stand on the issues regarding the office they want. It was a very helpful guide to help me be a responsible voter.

Good idea, Mare. I had thought about creating an About the Candidates page that would include some of the information you just mentioned. I know it’s often hard for people to keep track of the various candidates, especially if they don’t go to the candidate forums and events. So, a guide like you mentioned would probably be very useful.
