Council appoints 43 members to 17 boards

The Oak Ridge City Council on Monday appointed 43 members to 17 city boards and commissions. Some of the appointees are new board members, and others are incumbents.

Some were for designated positions. For example, two hotel representatives were appointed to the Oak Ridge Convention and Visitors Bureau, and one City Council member was appointed to the Planning Commission.

Here is a list of the appointments:

  • Anderson County Board of Equalization—Leonard Abbatiello;
  • Anderson County Community Action Commission—Benjamin J. Stephens;
  • Anderson County Economic Development Association—Karen Goforth Crutchfield;
  • Beer Permit Board—Pedro J. Otaduy, Theresa Scott, M. Wendy Williams, and William Randy Tedford;
  • Board of Building and Housing Code Appeals—Joseph E. Lee, Hugh B. Ward, and Aaron Wells;
  • Board of Zoning Appeals—Judith Mason and Syd Ball;
  • Oak Ridge Convention and Visitors Bureau—Gretchen A. Julius and Misty Williams (hotel representatives), and Mary Anne Damos, J. Mark Harvey, Hugh B. Ward, and Cindy Hagemann;
  • Elder Citizens Advisory Board—Lee Roy Gilliam, William A. Pryor, and Robert Smallridge;
  • Environmental Quality Advisory Board—Aditya Savara, Paige R. Z. Russell, and Ellen D. Smith;
  • Highland View Advisory Board—Karen Goforth Crutchfield and Ida Farrar;
  • Industrial Development Board—Melissa Freiderich, David L. Mason, and Harold D. Osucha;
  • Oak Ridge Housing Authority—Judith L. Osucha;
  • Oak Ridge Municipal Planning Commission—Charlie Hensley (City Council representative), Patrick McMillan, and Jane Shelton;
  • Personnel Advisory Board—Martha Wallus and Ella H. DuBose;
  • Recreation and Parks Advisory Board—Bridgette Ellis, William Eubanks, and B. Alan Tatum;
  • Trade Licensing Board—F. Wayne Garber and Mike Maddux; and
  • Traffic Safety Advisory Board—Gene R. Dunaway, Jana F. Humphrey, and Aditya Savara.
